Variable cloudiness with local afternoon rain expected

A moist and unstable air mass will linger over North Macedonia through the start of next work week, bringing variable cloudiness and scattered rain showers that can become heavier at times.

Afternoon showers possible, cooler mornings

Today is expected to be changeable with sunny intervals. The Hydrometeorological Service (UHMR) warns that weak, locally confined rain is possible during the afternoon hours. A light to moderate southeast wind will prevail, with occasional strengthening along the Vardar valley.

Morning temperatures across the country will range from 1°C to 8°C, while daytime readings are forecast between 16°C and 24°C.

In Skopje the day will be similarly variable with sunny spells and a light to moderate wind from changing directions. Temperatures there are expected to rise from about 6°C in the morning to around 23°C during the day.

Meteorologists say tomorrow will bring conditions much like today: variable cloudiness with sunny intervals, and scattered local rain in the afternoon and through the night. In some places showers may be intense and accompanied by isolated thunderstorms. A light to moderate southerly wind is expected and the maximum temperature tomorrow should reach 23°C.

Overall, the UHMR advises that instability will persist into next week, so periods of rain—occasionally heavy—remain possible across parts of the country.
