Safe City logs 296 traffic violations in Ohrid, Struga, Kicevo and Debar
The Safe City surveillance programme logged 148 violations on 12 October and the same number on the next day up to 19:00.

The new traffic surveillance system "Safe City" registered 296 traffic offences in its first two days of operation in the areas of Ohrid, Struga, Kicevo and Debar, SVR Ohrid said.
Early data from the first 48 hours
On the first day of operation, 12 October, 148 violations were recorded; the following day (13 October) the system logged the same number — 148 — up to 19:00. The incidents were entered automatically by the monitoring equipment across the four municipalities.
According to the police, the most frequent violations involved exceeding the speed limit both inside and outside populated areas, running red traffic lights and driving unregistered vehicles.
SVR Ohrid stated that every registered offence has been documented in the system. Notifications are being sent to the owners of the vehicles involved via SMS messages and electronic mail.
Authorities say the data will be used to enforce traffic rules and to follow up administratively with vehicle owners. The Safe City network continues to collect records as it operates across the monitored locations.
