Over 1,000 smuggled items seized, man from Kumanovo area arrested
A cargo Mercedes Sprinter was stopped in Lipkovo municipality and inspected after the driver failed to comply with police signals.

Police seized more than 1,000 pieces of undocumented goods and arrested a 36-year-old man from the Kumanovo area after stopping a cargo Mercedes Sprinter in Lipkovo municipality.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports that the driver, identified only by the initials S. S., a resident of the village of Goshince in the Municipality of Lipkovo, failed to stop when officers signalled him to pull over near the village of Lipkovo and continued toward the village of Otlja. Police later intercepted and stopped the vehicle.
Inventory found in the vehicle
During a search of the Mercedes Sprinter, officers discovered over 1,000 items without proper documentation. The items were recorded as: 320 pieces of textile, 28 pairs of shoes, 350 pieces of technical goods, 78 pieces of medicines, 76 pieces of cosmetics, six vehicle parts and 377 pieces of other goods.
MIA says the Public Prosecutor's Office in Kumanovo has been notified. Following completion of the case documentation, an appropriate charge will be filed against S. S.
The suspect was detained yesterday at around 19:50 by officers from the Border Crossing and Border Surveillance Station "Belanovce".
