Three-level parking garage finished beside Promaja building in Štip, capacity 50 cars
The modular garage near the Promaja building has three levels and room for 50 cars; Štip Municipality plans another 90-space garage before year-end.
A new three-level modular parking garage next to the "Promaja" building in Štip has been completed, municipal officials announced. It is the third multi-storey garage established in the town's central area.
Designed on reclaimed land, holds 50 cars
The structure rises on a parcel that previously served as a small informal dump; the terrain allowed construction of a three-storey facility, unlike the first two garages in the centre which have two levels each. The finished garage offers space for 50 vehicles.
Ivan Jordanov, mayor of Štip, highlighted that the project reused otherwise neglected land and expanded the town's parking capacity in the centre.
"The investment amounts to over 20 million denars (330,000 euros). The Municipality of Štip plans to begin construction of another multi-storey garage with 90 spaces by the end of this year. It will be built next to the old Health Centre or behind the administrative building of the Municipality of Štip. With that, the central urban area will have more than 300 parking spaces in multi-storey garages alone," says Jordanov.
Municipal officials say the new facility is part of a series of measures to relieve parking pressure in the centre, where demand for organised parking has increased in recent years. The administration expects the additional garage planned for later this year to significantly increase the supply of structured parking in the municipal core.
