Zelenskyy: 26 settlements and 745 square kilometres retaken on southeast front

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces this year have retaken 745 square kilometres of occupied territory and 26 settlements on the southeastern front.
According to Zelenskyy, the operation was carried out as planned by airborne and other Ukrainian units along a 60-kilometre front in the area between Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.
A separate mapping group, DeepState, however, judged that a significant portion of the reclaimed ground remains in a "grey zone" and that parts are still under Russian control.
Fighting continues despite local advances
While Russian advances on multiple stretches of the front have reportedly slowed, clashes and exchanges of fire persist across the wider frontline.
The situation on the ground remains fluid: commanders from both sides report localized gains and losses, and independent mapping assessments differ from official tallies, leaving the exact front-line picture contested.
