Volodymyr Zelenskyy: Pause in strikes on Russian oil refineries is over
Kyiv says it has mapped key areas for further long‑range strikes and will expand deep‑strike units relying on SBU, Alpha and intelligence services.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv has identified the key areas inside the Russian Federation for further use of long‑range weapons and is preparing new deep‑strike actions at greater distances.
Expanding reach after September–October operations
Zelenskyy said the announcement follows a submitted report on deep strikes carried out in September and October, and that Kyiv is now working to extend the reach of its weapons and drones.
“Every Russian attack on our cities and communities always meets a completely fair response. At the moment, Russian targets stretching from Yamal to Western Siberia are within the range of our strike, and we are working to ensure our drones and missiles can reach even more distant Russian territories,” he wrote on Telegram.
He also said Ukraine plans to expand its deep‑strike units, relying on the capacities of the SBU, the Alpha Special Operations Center, the country’s intelligence services and other defence structures.
“We are developing our strength,” Zelenskyy stressed, adding that the pause in attacks on Russian oil refineries is over. The president’s statements signal a planned intensification of strikes at longer ranges and a formalisation of the units tasked with those missions.
