20-year-old from Golema Rechica accused of selling stolen data and child pornography online

The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Tetovo issued an order to open an investigation against a 20-year-old from the village of Golema Rechica on multiple counts related to computer crime.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) filed a criminal complaint yesterday against 20-year-old E. A. from Golema Rechica after a joint operation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) uncovered that he had administered an illegal online marketplace for the sale of stolen personal data. Detention has been requested for the suspect.

Evidence and alleged offences

Prosecutors say months-long pre-investigative actions, coordinated by a public prosecutor, produced evidence that gives rise to a well-founded suspicion of the criminal offence of Computer Fraud under Article 251-b of the Criminal Code. According to the investigation, between 2025 and 2026 the suspect administered an illegal online group on the Telegram messaging app.

Within that Telegram group he allegedly offered services and software tools used in fraud schemes aimed at unlawfully returning funds. Investigators also suspect him of Abuse of Personal Data and of Production and Distribution of Child Pornography.

The MIA and the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Tetovo say the case remains under active investigation and that additional investigative measures are planned. Court proceedings on detention and further charges will follow as prosecutors complete their probe.
