October 23 becomes a long weekend as the holiday falls on Friday
The Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle falls on Friday, forming a three-day break; 8 December remains the last nationwide holiday in 2026.

Citizens will soon get another long weekend. The next nationwide non-working day is 23 October — the Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle — which this year falls on a Friday and therefore creates a three-day break together with Saturday and Sunday.
After that holiday there is only one more general public non-working day left in the calendar year.
8 December is the final nationwide holiday of 2026
On 8 December (Tuesday) the country will observe St. Clement of Ohrid — the Day of the Slavic Enlighteners, which is the last official nationwide non-working day for 2026. That means people will have one more opportunity for time off in December before the start of the new year.
Beyond the nationwide public holidays, the annual calendar also includes a number of days that are non-working for members of particular religious and ethnic communities in the country.
Employers, institutions and citizens who plan around the holiday calendar should note these dates when arranging travel, services or work schedules.
