Agency to sell 990 damaged vehicles as scrap — auction on 21 August 2026

The Agency for Management of Seized Property will put up for sale a bulk lot of 990 damaged vehicles and other movable items that, after purchase, cannot be re-registered or used on public roads and will be treated strictly as waste intended for recycling.

Sale terms, timing and buyer requirements

The lot includes passenger and freight motor vehicles, motorcycles, tractors, trailers and various pieces of machinery located on the Agency's yards, all classified as scrap because of their condition. The overall valuation of the package was prepared using assessments by the Bureau for Forensic Expertise at the Ministry of Justice.

The electronic public auction starts at a base price of 13 denars per kilogram of scrap iron, VAT excluded. The final purchase price will depend on the exact weight of the taken items, which will be established when the buyer removes the material and confirmed with weighbridge notes.

Only legal entities may participate in the e-auction scheduled for 21 August 2026 at 10:00. Natural persons are explicitly excluded. Companies must hold the legally required permits for handling, collecting, transporting and processing this type of waste and must have appropriate machinery for removal and transport — for example grab-equipped trucks and a baling press.

Interested legal entities must deposit 1,287,000 denars to participate, an amount equal to 10 percent of the indicative value of the package. Applications and supporting documentation must be submitted no later than 19 August 2026 by 14:00.

After the auction, the winning bidder has 15 days to sign the sale contract and must provide a bank guarantee of 1,930,500 denars (15 percent of the indicative value) before signing. The contract will define obligations related to collection: the buyer will have 75 days from the contract date to remove all items from the Agency's yards. All costs for removal, loading, weighing and transport are borne by the purchaser.

Authorities stress that the sold vehicles are not intended for repair or return to traffic; they must be processed and recycled in accordance with applicable waste-management laws. With the sale of the 990 items, the Agency aims to free up yard space while channeling material back into the waste collection and processing system.
