Austrian employers seek Serbian-speaking staff — salaries up to €49,000 a year
Positions in logistics, administration and technical fields across Austria list Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian as sought languages; some offer remote work.
Austrian employers across sectors from logistics to administration are increasingly listing Serbian, Croatian or Bosnian among desired language skills, opening extra routes for candidates who combine one of those languages with good German.
Who is hiring and what they offer
LKW WALTER in Wiener Neudorf is advertising for a transport manager. The role specifically requires very good knowledge of Serbian, Bosnian or Croatian alongside German or English. The starting gross annual salary is around €43,800 and the post includes the possibility to perform part of the work from home.
BTG Spedition, also in Wiener Neudorf, seeks a dispatcher with experience in logistics and transport organisation; the ad names Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian as important language skills and requests a good command of German.
Mitutoyo Austria in Wels is looking for an Operational Business Service Specialist for the Southeast Europe market. The vacancy asks for German and English at B2 level and knowledge of Croatian and Serbian. The starting gross annual salary is at least €49,000 and some duties can be carried out from home.
Other openings include an administrative-medical worker in Vienna’s 19th district (20–25 hours weekly) where Croatian and Serbian are listed among useful additional languages; maintenance and mechatronics roles at Bogic Tech in Vienna; an administrative post at Sprachschule Aktiv that values Croatian or Serbian; and a climate/air-conditioning technician for Trummer in Hof am Leithaberge, where the advert lists Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, Slovenian, Slovak and Czech. The hourly wage for the Trummer position starts at €17.66 gross, with higher pay depending on experience and qualifications.
The current set of ads shows that regional languages can be a decisive asset in a range of Austrian jobs — from office and administrative work to logistics and technical professions — and in some cases bring access to remote-work options.
