Free screenings for stroke prevention in Skopje on 27 and 28 October
Neurology Clinic offers blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol checks at Macedonia Square on 27 Oct and carotid Doppler scans at the clinic on 28 Oct.
Free preventive health checks for stroke risk will be offered in Skopje on 27 and 28 October by the Neurology Clinic. The events include on-site measurements of blood pressure, blood sugar and blood cholesterol, plus an on-site risk assessment for stroke.
Where and when
On 27 October the screenings will take place on the plateau in front of the Pelister restaurant at Macedonia Square in Skopje. The initiative is organised by the Neurology Clinic as part of observances for 29 October, World Stroke Day.
On 28 October the Neurology Clinic will hold an open day for citizens between 11:00 and 13:00, during which free Doppler scans of the carotid arteries will be performed at the clinic.
The organisers say the checks are preventive and intended to help detect common vascular risk factors early. The offer is free and open to all citizens interested in assessing their stroke risk.
Those who attend on either day will receive the basic measurements on-site; citizens invited for carotid Doppler exams on 28 October will be examined at the clinic during the stated hours.
