Budget Council approves Assembly strategic plan 2027–2031 and 2027 budget
The strategic plan keeps six functional goals and adds EU integration; the 2027 budget totals 1,220,532,000 denars and includes 15 new hires.

The Budget Council of the Assembly approved the institution's strategic plan for 2027–2031 and the Assembly budget for 2027 during its session chaired by MP Antonio Milososki.
Secretary General Marina Dimovska presented the strategic plan as a document that responds to the Assembly’s operational needs and supports strengthening the legislature’s lawmaking, oversight and representative roles. The plan retains six functional goals — functional, open, digital, secure assembly, parliamentary diplomacy — and introduces EU integration and an efficient service as a new element.
Most of the debate focused on the proposal to give financial consent to the Annual employment plan for the Assembly Service for 2027. SDSM MP Fatmir Bitici urged that the number of staff in the Translation Sector be increased, arguing that delays in translating documents often occur because of insufficient technical capacity and staffing.
Dimovska told the Council that the plan foresees promotions for current Translation Sector employees as well as new hirings. Bitici said he was not satisfied with that explanation and requested a precise count of the additional translators needed and information on whether alternative models are being considered to help translators work faster and more easily.
The employment-plan decision was adopted with five votes in favour and one abstention.
The Assembly budget for 2027 was approved at 1,220,532,000 denars, to be supplemented by donations amounting to 12,873,000 denars, and is presented as fully serving the work of the Assembly. The budget also includes 15 new positions for the coming year and envisaged promotions for staff.
