Drone entered homes in Kochani, multiple reports to SVR – Shtip
Shtip police are investigating multiple reports that a drone approached windows and in two cases entered residences late at night.
Published: 18 September, 2026 23:22 — Multiple residents in Kochani reported to the Shtip Police Department (SVR – Shtip) that a drone approached their homes late at night and in some cases entered interior spaces.
According to the complaints, the unmanned aircraft drew very close to residential windows — at times coming as close as one metre — while recording from the outside during late evening and night hours.
Police have registered two incidents in which the drone penetrated the homes themselves. In one case, occupants were awakened by the impact of the aircraft against a window pane as it attempted to leave. In the other, residents tried to bring the device down, but it managed to escape and flew off into the darkness.
Police response and preliminary findings
Investigators at SVR – Shtip say they are working to clarify the circumstances and are checking whether any registered applications for permits to fly unmanned aircraft exist; they note that one such application is known to exist.
The police characterize the events as potentially amounting to two criminal offences: unauthorized filming and violation of the inviolability of the home. The investigation remains ongoing.
