State Market Inspectorate collected 3.479.150 denars in one week

Between 07.09.2026 and 13.09.2026 the State Market Inspectorate carried out 410 inspections across the territory of North Macedonia and issued 119 administrative payment orders totaling 3.479.150 denars.

Breakdown by law

The inspections and issued orders were recorded under a range of laws as follows:

• Law on Trade: 85 inspections, 20 administrative payment orders;
• Law on Protection from Smoking: 17 inspections, 6 administrative payment orders;
• Law on Catering Activity: 41 inspections, 22 administrative payment orders;
• Law on Consumer Protection: 32 inspections, no administrative payment orders;
• Law on Crafts: 33 inspections, 1 administrative payment order;
• Law on Financial Discipline: 97 inspections, 53 administrative payment orders;
• Law on Prohibition and Prevention of Unregistered Activity: 22 inspections, no administrative payment orders;
• Law on Technical Requirements for Products and Conformity Assessment: 7 inspections, no administrative payment orders;
• Law on Metrology: 14 inspections, 6 administrative payment orders;
• Law on Construction Products: 14 inspections, no administrative payment orders;
• Law on the State Market Inspectorate: 6 inspections, no administrative payment orders;
• Law on General Product Safety: 5 inspections, no administrative payment orders;
• Law on Tourist Activity: 6 inspections, no administrative payment orders.

“Fifteen warnings were issued, on the basis of which follow-up inspections will be carried out in accordance with the law.

The State Market Inspectorate conducts continuous inspection oversight within its competencies with all available resources, for ongoing procedures and enforcement of legal regulations. The State Market Inspectorate acts in accordance with the laws and the annual and monthly work plan. Additionally, besides regular inspections, it also acts on reports submitted by citizens and other institutions in accordance with legal regulations,” the State Market Inspectorate said.

The agency stated the inspections were performed as part of its regular monthly and annual programmes and that it also responds to citizen complaints and notifications from other institutions.
