Trajche Mukaetov Foundation donates 2.2 million denars to Kozle clinic
Funds raised at Alkaloid’s 12th charity picnic will equip the clinic with an advanced bronchoscopy unit.
The Trajche Mukaetov Foundation donated 2.2 million denars to the University Clinic for Respiratory Diseases in Children "Kozle" after the 12th annual charity picnic organized for Alkaloid employees.
The funds were raised at the company event held under the foundation's auspices and will be used to equip the clinic's bronchoscopy service with modern devices, clinic officials said.
New equipment for the clinic's bronchoscopy team
“This year we decided that what comes from the activity of our employees — where, alongside their professional work, they show that there is humanity in them, that there is solidarity and that we help where help is needed — should go to the smallest and the professionals who care for them, because that is part of our motto, our mission, and that is ‘Health above all’. Fifteen years ago we started organizing these humanitarian picnics. Over these 15 years 14 million denars have been collected and donated to various organizations and associations that needed these funds. This year we raised 2.2 million denars and decided to donate them to the University Clinic for Respiratory Diseases in Children ‘Kozle’,” said Zhivko Mukaetov, general manager and chairman of the Board of Alkaloid.
Professor Dr. Katerina Boskovska, director of the University Clinic for Respiratory Diseases in Children "Kozle", said the new devices will upgrade the clinic’s bronchoscopy capacity.
“With this equipment, which will be the most sophisticated for the bronchoscopy room in our clinic — the only one that has a bronchoscopy room and a bronchoscopy team performing bronchoscopies in children from the youngest age — we carry out diagnostic procedures for detailed diagnosis of respiratory diseases, emergency bronchoscopies, and therapeutic interventions when inhaled foreign bodies are involved, which are not rare in childhood and are a dramatic and difficult condition. This newest bronchoscopy column with a video‑fiber bronchoscope will raise our standards and make our work easier; our entire bronchoscopy team includes top professionals, ENT specialists and pediatricians,” Boskovska said.
The annual picnic is the main fundraising event of the Trajche Mukaetov Foundation and Alkaloid employees; organizers said that across 15 years the initiative has mobilized support and donated a total of 14 million denars to institutions and associations in need.
