Skopje mayor: Two modular garages with over 520 spots for Clinical Center
Tender launched; cable car repairs to start in 7–10 days and Jane Sandanski bridge set to open in three weeks.

Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski announced on 20 September 2026 that the city will address the shortage of parking around the Clinical Center by building two large modular parking garages with a combined capacity of more than 520 vehicles.
Speaking at the announcement, Gjorgjievski said: "I want first to welcome the Government's idea for a new Clinical Center, but until then we will solve the chaos at the Clinical Center and a tender procedure has been announced for the construction of two large modular parking lots that will satisfy the needs of over 520 parking spaces, if everything goes as it should immediately after the completion of the tender procedure we will start construction."
The mayor said the municipality has already launched the procurement process and that, if the tender proceeds without delays, work on the modular garages will begin promptly after contracts are awarded.
Plans for cable car and bridge
Gjorgjievski also confirmed that a contract has been signed for repair works on the cable car on Sredno Vodno and that he expects those repairs to begin within the next 7 to 10 days. After a detailed and thorough servicing and the issuance of official safety guarantees, the cable car will be returned to service for citizens.
Regarding the Jane Sandanski bridge, the mayor said expropriation is complete and that the structure will be ready for use within three weeks, a step meant to relieve traffic pressure in the area.
The city frames these interventions as short- and medium-term measures to improve access to health services and ease congestion while broader plans for a new Clinical Center proceed.
