City of Skopje conducts ground disinsection against mosquito larvae today

The City of Skopje will carry out a ground disinsection operation against mosquito larvae today on multiple water bodies across the capital.

City officials described the activity as part of routine measures aimed at controlling and reducing the mosquito population in urban areas.

Advice for beekeepers

Authorities urged beekeepers to take timely protective measures for their hives during the disinsection. If weather conditions prevent spraying, the work will be postponed and executed on the next day with favorable weather.

The municipality stressed that the intervention targets larval habitats on standing water and other aquatic sites where mosquitoes breed, and that scheduling depends on current meteorological conditions.

Residents are asked to exercise caution near treated sites until municipal guidance indicates it is safe to return. The City of Skopje reiterated that these actions form part of its seasonal pest-control programme.
