Residents report live and dead rodents at Bunjakovec shopping center parking
Photos posted on social media show dead mice at the municipal parking; local officials say regular and extraordinary deratizations have been carried out.
Residents who use the municipal parking lot between Bunjakovec Shopping Center and neighbouring commercial buildings have raised alarms after finding both live and dead rodents on the site.
A Facebook group translated as "In Defense of Bunjakovec" posted photos showing dead mice on the parking area; the images are said to have been taken on 17.09.2026.
Municipal response and recent deratization
The Centre Municipality told citizens that everything within their remit has been done and that regular deratizations are carried out; an extraordinary deratization was conducted in August.
In a Facebook statement, the municipality said the extraordinary deratization was carried out following citizen reports of an increased appearance of rodents. The operation covered several critical locations including Kapishtec, Debar Maalo, Bunjakovec and Kale.
Residents continue to ask municipal authorities and Mayor Goran Gerasimovski for clarification and for measures to prevent further public-health risks at the parking lot.
