Irena Spasovska shares vintage photo at 20 — pink look before a show
The folk singer recalled her start in a popular trio, discussed childhood in Čair and spoke about vegetarianism and her daughter Tamara.

Veteran folk singer Irena Spasovska surprised fans by sharing a vintage photo from early in her career, showing how she looked at just 20 years old. The image, posted on her social media, captured the singer in a striking pink outfit, with curly blonde hair and a familiar smile.
From a trio to a solo career
Spasovska, who has been active on the Macedonian music scene for three decades, reminded followers of her beginnings in a celebrated trio alongside Adrijana and Goran Alački, a formation that dominated the airwaves and festival stages in its day.
Commenting on the photo she wrote, "Ah, if I only had those years, and this wisdom... Photo before a show; back then pink was my favorite color. Me at 20." The post drew nostalgic reactions from long-time fans and renewed interest in her early repertoire.
In a recent appearance on the show Kafe muabeti produced by Glamur.mk, recorded in the relaxed setting of the Dion restaurant in Skopje, Spasovska opened up about personal details she usually keeps private. She spoke about her childhood in the Čair neighbourhood and confirmed that musical talent runs in the family.
On matters of lifestyle she said bluntly, "I am a great foodie, but I am a vegetarian," and paid tribute to her daughter Tamara, describing her as her greatest supporter and companion in life. She also underlined her years of self-reliance: "I have neither had nor wanted help from a man; everything I have I earned myself!"
The retro photo and the interview together offer a look at both the public persona and the private principles that shaped Spasovska's long career on the folk stage.
