IT administrator suspected of altering grades at Goce Delcev University in Shtip

Published: 03 November 2026 09:39. Police from the Shtip Regional Police Directorate (SVR Shtip) carried out searches this morning at multiple locations in Shtip and Skopje amid an investigation into alleged unlawful manipulation of exams, grades and other administrative procedures at Goce Delcev University in Shtip.

Allegations focus on former or current head of the university's IT unit

Investigators suspect a current or former university employee who served as head of the IT sector of performing unauthorised changes within the university’s information system. The alleged abuses reportedly include entering exam points, deleting grades, and enabling semester enrolments for students who did not meet the formal requirements.

Sources say the suspect allegedly received monetary compensation for these services. According to the same information, most of the students who used the illicit service were Turkish nationals studying at the university in Shtip.

During the searches at the suspect’s residence, police reportedly found a larger sum of money. Authorities have not yet released an official accounting of the amount or other evidentiary details.

As of publication there is no formal confirmation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs about the police operation, and it is not yet known whether any arrests have been made. Further details are expected from the competent institutions.
