Fines and removal of unauthorised bollards at Centar construction sites
Inspectors detected violations at 10 active sites; six fines and removal of unauthorised bollards were imposed.
Centar Municipality carried out inspections at 10 active construction sites last week and found multiple breaches of public order and the Law on Public Cleanliness, the municipality announced.
“During the field checks carried out in the late afternoon hours, violations of public order and non-compliance with the Law on Public Cleanliness were observed, and six fines of €1,300 each were issued. In addition, blockers and bollards that had been illegally placed on public areas were removed at three locations,” the municipality said.
Immediate measures and warnings
The inspections were focused on how building works affect surrounding neighbourhoods, particularly in areas of individual housing. Inspectors removed unauthorised street blockers and bollards in three locations and issued six administrative penalties totaling €7,800.
Centar officials appealed to investors and construction companies to comply with legal obligations and to implement environmental protection measures while working near residential zones.
Mayor Goran Gerasimovski announced that the municipality will carry out additional ad hoc controls aimed at protecting the environment, preventing pollution and ensuring sidewalks and streets remain safe and unobstructed.
The municipality said the controls were conducted during late afternoon hours and stressed that further enforcement actions will follow if breaches continue.
