Kocani opens new Service Center for electronic government services

Kocani has opened a new municipal Service Center that gives residents local access to the electronic services available on the national portal uslugi.gov.mk. The center provides a single place where people can request documents such as birth certificate extracts, criminal records, and a range of services from the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre, the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO Fund) and other institutions.

More services, less travel

The Ministry of Digital Transformation says the new center will let people from Kocani and surrounding areas use online services and receive help when they need assistance filling in electronic applications or using the portal.

Minister Stefan Andonovski said the move brings government services closer to citizens, especially those who need support when submitting electronic requests.

Andonovski stated: "Citizens will be able to receive more than 350 services that until now would have required visiting different institutions or to apply and receive the service themselves from their mobile phone or laptop. Those who do not have electronic devices, do not know or do not want to use them, will now be able, in one place, at the Service Center in Kocani to obtain numerous certificates and services."

The new facility is the eighteenth Service Center opened in North Macedonia.

Vladko Grozdanov, mayor of Kocani, said the municipal council welcomed the minister's initiative and expects the center to shorten waiting times at counters and reduce the need to travel to the capital. Grozdanov added that friendly staff will be available and that the service will also benefit the nearby municipalities of Chesinovo-Obleshevo and Zrnovci.

During the minister's working visit he is scheduled to meet representatives of IT companies and members of Kocani's STEM robotics club.
