Lenche Kukic shone as a bride; Goran Kukic was compared to Elvis Presley

Singer Lenche Kukic and her husband Goran Kukic remain one of the most enduring couples in our entertainment scene, more than three decades after they first started dating.

The pair married in 1996 in a large celebration in Strumica. Contemporary photos from the wedding show Lenche in an elaborate bridal gown while Goran, also dressed in white, had a look that many compared to Elvis Presley.

How they met and their musical ties

Lenche has recounted that their relationship began in an unusual way and that it was "love at first sight." At the time they first crossed paths she was only 15. Goran had been living in Australia and met her after returning home, at a restaurant where Lenche was performing.

According to Lenche, he was taken by her talent and she by his charm; as she put it, "he was handsome like Elvis Presley." The couple dated for several years before marrying, and later became parents to a son, Ivan, who also followed a musical path.

Over the years they have continued to appear together onstage — among notable evenings was a joint performance with maestro Goran Alacki in the village of Gari, and a shared appearance at the church "Presveta Bogorodica" in honour of Petre Garkata, one of the region's best-known kopanichari.

Decades after that Strumica wedding, the couple's partnership is still described by peers and fans as warm and harmonious.
