Levica demands explanation for the security clearance and dispatch of Kiro Todorovski to Vienna
Levica demands an explanation of how a person with a final conviction obtained a 'state secret' clearance and was sent to Vienna; institutions and parties are not fully responding.
The political party Levica has called on the institutions and President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova to explain how intelligence officer Kiro Todorovski — who was finally convicted with a suspended sentence in the "Titanic" case — obtained a security clearance with the level "state secret" and was sent to Vienna as a diplomatic representative.
Levica: "The intelligence officer Kiro Todorovski, who admitted guilt and was finally convicted in the 'Titanic' case, was returned to the Intelligence Agency in November 2025, received a clearance to access information classified as 'state secret' in February 2026, and was already sent to Vienna in July as a diplomatic representative of the state. According to the confirmation issued by the Criminal Court on 21 May 2026, his conviction is still recorded in the criminal register. The President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova cannot remain silent about this case. The President's Cabinet cannot behave as if the case belongs to a different institution. When an authority under her immediate institutional jurisdiction sends a convicted person to a sensitive position abroad, silence ceases to be restraint and becomes political patronage."
In the statement, Levica lists the key points: the return to the Agency in November 2025, the issuance of the access certificate in February 2026 and the dispatch in July 2026, as well as the Criminal Court's confirmation from 21 May 2026 that the conviction is still recorded.
Who will answer?
TV 24 requested a response from the President's Cabinet of Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, but no reply was received by the time of going to press.
VMRO-DPMNE gave a brief response to TV 24: "With regard to the accusations of the political party Levica, our position is that the entire procedure was fully complied with in the classified process."
So far there have been no public reactions from the Intelligence Agency, the Agency for National Security, or the Directorate for the Protection of Classified Information. Levica demands a clear and transparent answer about who authorized the clearance and the foreign posting.
