Makedon Dimitrovski accepted into Johns Hopkins CTY with Grand Honors
Eleven-year-old Makedon received Grand Honors and SET status at Johns Hopkins’s Center for Talented Youth after strong SAT results.
Makedon Dimitrovski has been accepted into the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, after qualifying through the program’s testing process. He received the highest distinction, Grand Honors, for outstanding performance in mathematics and verbal reasoning, and was also awarded SET (Study of Exceptional Talent) status.
Achievements at a young age
At just 11 years old, Dimitrovski scored 1,440 on the SAT, with a 740 in mathematics and a 700 in evidence-based reading and writing. Those results helped secure his place in CTY, a program that identifies and supports academically exceptional young students.
His record includes more than 20 gold medals from international mathematics competitions, a tally that has positioned him among the country’s most promising young mathematicians.
His parents, Vladimir and Tina Dimitrovski, announced the news and celebrated the milestone. They told him: "We are prouder of you than words can say." The family said this is only the beginning of his academic journey.
The CTY program at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore is internationally recognised for nurturing gifted students. Acceptance with Grand Honors and SET highlights both Dimitrovski’s test results and his potential for further advancement in mathematics and related fields.
