North Macedonia commits to concrete action on the Green Agenda

North Macedonia pledged concrete steps to implement the Green Agenda at the third ministerial meeting held within the Balkan Process, a commitment presented as the outcome of a two-day meeting in Montenegro.
Regional declaration ties words to actions
The participating Western Balkans countries adopted a declaration that, officials said, goes beyond legislative changes and obliges governments to take tangible measures to advance environmental policies.
Representatives heard a clear message from the European Union that environmental protection is a central obligation, a point underscored when enlargement was returned to the EU agenda.
The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), a partner in the Berlin Process, said it expects the promises made by the Western Balkans states — including North Macedonia — to be followed by implementation.
Organizers presented the declaration as the epilogue of the two-day talks in Montenegro, and participants indicated that follow-up work and monitoring will be needed to turn commitments into concrete projects and reforms.
