Igor Marković names 35 players for preliminary Euro 2026 roster

Coach Igor Marković has submitted a 35-player preliminary roster to the European Handball Federation (EHF) ahead of the Women’s European Championship 2026.

The wider list, announced on 29 October 2026, will be trimmed to the final squad before the tournament. North Macedonia has been drawn to play its matches in Cluj, where its opponents will be Romania (one of the host nations), Switzerland and Norway.

Preparations and warm-up schedule

Preparations for Euro 2026 are scheduled to begin on 22 November. As part of the build-up, the national team will travel to Turkey for a friendly tournament from 27 to 29 November, where they will face the hosts as well as Finland and Italy.

The selection sent to the EHF is a provisional list intended to give the coaching staff options during the training period and warm-up matches. Final selection decisions will follow the training camp and preparatory matches later in the month.

Igor Marković, who leads North Macedonia’s women’s national team, opted for a broad pool of players to cover positions and evaluate combinations ahead of the European Championship.
