Atina Tošić will turn 18 on September 7, and her younger sister Nika celebrates her 17th birthday on the same day — a double milestone their parents, singer Jelena Karleuša and footballer Duško Tošić, will mark with a joint gala in Belgrade.

The event is planned for one of the city’s upper-tier hotels and the guest list reportedly reaches about 200 invitations, including family, friends, colleagues, celebrities and schoolmates of the two sisters.

Menu, guests and numbers

The catering has attracted particular attention: organizers set the menu price at €150 per person. With roughly 200 invited guests, food and drinks alone could total about €30,000.

Hosts will offer a varied selection combining local and international dishes, with a separate vegetarian menu for non-meat eaters. Appetizers and starters said to be on the table include bruschetta with smoked salmon, goose pâté, chickpea cream with truffles, saffron risotto with edamame, zucchini, young peas and mascarpone, and marinated rump steak with cream cheese. Guests are also expected to be served hummus with ajvar, kaymak with cracklings, beef steak with black pepper sauce, smoked salmon carpaccio and assorted seafood.

Main courses will feature elevated choices such as beef with truffles in puff pastry, various seafood preparations, duck with sweet potato and orange, roasted beef crusted with pepper and duck leg with cauliflower purée and wine sauce. For those who prefer traditional dishes, the menu reportedly includes Serbian mućkalica, grilled meat with kaymak, homemade sarma and roast. Additional items listed are asparagus potage, duck soup, mini beef burgers, goulash and fish soup.

Desserts are planned to be equally abundant: a hazelnut-and-raspberry cake, white chocolate mousse with yogurt and mango, reforma and Esterházy cakes, apple-and-cherry tarts, fruit cakes, meringues, profiteroles with chocolate and pistachios, and chestnut purée with white and dark chocolate mousse, plus fresh fruit and homemade compote. Drinks will range from French champagne and Italian wines to domestic and international beers, rakija, whiskey, gin, vodka, rum and aperitifs.

Jelena Karleuša has taken charge of the party preparations while Duško is also involved. Karleuša said the girls did not impose specific requests about gifts or the event and left details to their parents; the party décor will follow Atina’s preference for pink and Nika’s for blue. "Because it will be very beautiful and fairytale-like, the nice thing is that both mom and dad are part of this story," Karleuša said, adding that many of her colleagues had accepted the invitation and will attend as guests. Organizers say the evening will blend spectacle and emotion, with Atina’s formal entry into adulthood expected to be a particularly poignant moment.
