MEPSO seeks near‑double transmission tariff and 3.39 billion denars

State transmission operator MEPSO has submitted a request to the Energy Regulatory Commission (RKE) proposing a near‑doubling of the average transmission tariff, asking that it rise from 0.3018 to 0.5966 denars per kilowatt‑hour starting in January. The application was filed on 16 October 2026.

How MEPSO frames the numbers

In its filing, MEPSO calculates the proposed increase at 97.68 percent. For the coming year the company seeks regulated revenue of about 3.39 billion denars, up from the 1.88 billion denars that were approved for 2026.

At the same time MEPSO expects lower volumes on the transmission network: planned electricity exiting the transmission system is reduced from 6.24 billion kilowatt‑hours projected for this year to 5.68 billion kilowatt‑hours for the next year.

Other market participants left their tariff positions unchanged in the recent filings. The National Electricity Market Operator (MEMO) did not request a change to its average tariff for market organisation and management, while Electrodistribution has not specified whether it will seek any price change because its procurement procedure for covering losses has not yet been completed.

The request now moves to RKE, which must review MEPSO’s calculations and decide whether to approve, modify or reject the proposed tariff and the level of regulated revenue.
