Miki Sekulovski Celebrates 40 — From Waiter in Belgium to Ceca’s Backing Vocalist

Miki Sekulovski marked a milestone this week when he celebrated his 40th birthday, sharing a photo with a cake and thanking friends and followers for their messages.

From early talent shows to big regional stages

The Veles-born singer first gained public attention through his appearances on Macedonian Idol, but his profile rose sharply after competing on Zvezde Granda. Each performance on that programme won him new fans and praise from the jury.

Before returning to the music scene, Sekulovski moved to Belgium to work and support his family, taking a job as a waiter. He decided to come back to North Macedonia after the death of his father.

Sekulovski has spoken openly about difficult personal years, including bouts of depression and panic attacks. Encouraged by his mother to try his luck in Zvezde Granda, he saw his fortunes change dramatically.

From the start, Saša Popović predicted that his singing would bear fruit, and Sekulovski eventually finished in a high second place. A classically trained, graduate opera singer, he is now one of the region’s most sought-after performers and has long performed as the backing vocalist for mentor Svetlana "Ceca" Ražnatović at her large concerts across the Balkans.

On his milestone birthday fans and colleagues flooded his social accounts with congratulations. We join those wishes and look forward to more hits and major appearances from Sekulovski in the years ahead.
