Young man from Tetovo arrested after attempting to stab his father (V.M., 32)
The police detained 32-year-old V.M. from Tetovo after a report of threats and an attempted attack on his father.
A 32-year-old resident of Tetovo was arrested this morning after a report that he had earlier attacked his own father and threatened family members, the police announced.
In the statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a detailed chronology of events is provided.
"On 05.08.2026 at 08:25, police officers from the Tetovo Police Department detained V.M. (32) from Tetovo, acting on a prior report that during last week he threatened his parents in the family home with a sharp object, and on 03.08.2026, after he was not given money, he smashed some of the furniture and attempted to attack his 61-year-old father with a sharp object. After documenting the case, an appropriate criminal complaint will follow," said the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Action and continuation of proceedings
The police detained the person after the family reportedly said they had been exposed to threats and harassment in the home for a prolonged period. After collecting the necessary documentation, the prosecution will assess and file the appropriate charge.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not disclose details about any injuries to the 61-year-old father nor whether he sought medical assistance. It was also not stated whether the detainee has any prior criminal charges.
