Former North Macedonia youth goalkeeper Thomas Bozhinoski has taken a step into the coaching ranks at one of Europe's best-known clubs. The 27-year-old announced on social media that he has joined the coaching staff of one of SL Benfica's youth teams.
New role in Lisbon
Bozhinoski's appointment is a notable development in his early coaching career, coming after a playing path that never fully broke through at senior level. As a youth player he spent time in the academies of Vitória, Académica and Paços de Ferreira before retiring from playing and turning to coaching.
During his time as a player he was also involved with the national setup. He was included by then U21 coach Blagoja Milevski and made five appearances for North Macedonia's U21 side.
Joining Benfica's youth coaching staff gives Bozhinoski exposure to a high-performance environment renowned for producing talent and a chance to develop as a coach at a club with strong youth infrastructure.
At 27, Bozhinoski is among the younger members of coaching circles, and the move to Benfica represents a significant opportunity to build his résumé in continental football.
