dm plants 264 saplings in Bitola kindergarten and primary school

dm drogerie markt marked the start of the new school year in Bitola by planting a total of 264 saplings at two educational institutions: kindergarten "Vangel Majorot" and primary school "Gjorgji Sugarev". The action is part of the eco-competition Green Future: from kindergarten to school (Zelena idnina: od gradinka do uchilishte), run in partnership with the Macedonian Ecological Society (MED).

The newly planted trees and shrubs expand green space where children spend their days, and the organisers say the activity combines practical landscaping with an educational aim: to bring lessons about caring for nature closer to the youngest generation.

Continuation of a multi-stage campaign

This Bitola action builds on earlier phases of the project. In October and November 2025 four school yards were greened with more than 500 saplings, and in the first months of 2026 over 380 saplings were planted at kindergartens and schools in Bansko, Tetovo, Kumanovo, Gevgelija, Ohrid and Veles. With the additional 264 saplings in Bitola, the initiative extends its reach into the new school year.

Organisers describe the campaign as a way to improve school and kindergarten yards while creating opportunities for children to learn about trees, biodiversity and environmental responsibility through direct involvement.

The Bitola planting is presented as another example of concrete community activity: the initiative aims that each newly planted tree becomes a lasting improvement to the spaces where future generations grow up, while also encouraging local ecological awareness among pupils and staff.
