Vehicle inspection station in Čair broken into; surveillance receiver stolen
Police say a surveillance receiver was removed from the station manager’s office after forced entry; bank and police offices inside the building were also breached but nothing taken.
A vehicle inspection station in the Čair neighbourhood of Skopje was broken into overnight, and the building's surveillance receiver was taken, the Ministry of Interior (MVR) reported on Sunday.
Police: entry with force, receiver removed from head's office
The incident was reported to the Skopje Police Department (SVR Skopje) at 02:42 on 27.09.2026. According to the report, perpetrators entered the vehicle inspection facility on Aleksandar Urdarevski Street by force sometime between 15:00 on 26.09.2026 and the moment the crime was reported.
Investigators determined that the receiver from the video surveillance system was taken from the office of the station manager. Officers who attended the scene also found that a bank branch and a police office located within the same building had been forced open, but nothing was removed from those premises.
Police carried out an on-site inspection and said they are taking measures to clarify the case. No arrests were announced in the initial report.
The MVR statement does not assess the value of the stolen equipment but says investigators will continue working to identify the offenders and recover the device.
