Official: Shtip UGD to host Champions League return leg at Jackson Hall

The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) has confirmed that the Champions League return leg between Macedonian champions Shtip UGD and Dutch side Orion Stars Doetinchem will take place in Shtip's Jackson sports hall on 28 October, starting at 18:00.

Home court for the decisive match

The decision means Shtip's volleyers will play the second match of the two-legged qualifying tie in front of their own fans, a potentially crucial factor as they seek a positive result against the more experienced Dutch opponent.

The first leg of this qualifying round is scheduled to be played one week earlier, on 21 October, in the Netherlands. CEV's confirmation finalises the timetable and venue for the pair of fixtures.

For Shtip, staging the return match at the Jackson hall represents both a sporting milestone — the club's debut in the Champions League proper — and a chance to capitalise on home support to overturn or protect a result from the opening leg.

Organisers expect local fans to turn out in force for the 28 October fixture, which will mark a rare opportunity for the city to host a match in Europe's top club competition.
