Detention ordered for Dimitrovska from Kratovo after charging visitors at Kuklica and attacking police

A prosecutor at the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Kumanovo filed a request for pre-trial detention for a 41-year-old woman from Kratovo who was arrested yesterday and is facing proceedings for obstruction of officials and usurpation of a protected site.

Authorities say she was charging visitors at Kuklica without legal basis

Prosecutors report that the suspect has for an extended period continued to usurp the Kuklica site — which is designated a nature monument by decree — by charging visitors entrance fees without legal authority, arguing with and threatening them, and repeatedly disturbing public order.

During the most recent incident the suspect allegedly committed a criminal act of “obstruction of an official in the performance of official duties under Article 382, paragraph 3 in connection with paragraphs 2 and 1 of the Criminal Code,” physically assaulting and preventing police officers who attempted to identify and detain her.

Prosecutors noted that the woman is already the subject of ongoing proceedings for prolonged usurpation of the Kuklica site, in which precautionary measures were imposed, including a ban on visiting the location; she has avoided accepting and complying with that decision.

The file also states that the suspect, together with her husband, previously took part in obstructing market inspectors. Citing a risk of flight and a clear tendency for the suspect to continue committing offenses, the prosecutor submitted a detention proposal to the investigating judge. The court granted the request and ordered pre-trial detention.
