Trial resumes in "State Lottery" case
Former deputy prime minister Artan Grubi, ex-director Perparim Bajrami and six others face accusations over the alleged misuse and embezzlement of roughly 600 million denars.

The trial in the "State Lottery" case resumed in the Basic Court in Skopje, where the accused include former deputy prime minister Artan Grubi, former director Perparim Bajrami and six other individuals.
Prosecutors allege the group abused official position and carried out embezzlement of around 600 million denars from the State Lottery budget in connection with the procurement of video lottery terminals.
Testimony from the State Lottery director
At the previous hearing the director at the State Lottery, Vlado Petkovski, gave testimony about the purchase process. Petkovski told the court that "there were feasibility studies, opinions and a financial plan for the purchase."
Defence teams and prosecutors continue to present evidence and witnesses as the proceedings move forward. The court has not yet concluded the list of witnesses or set a final date for closing arguments.
The case remains one of the higher-profile corruption probes connected to public procurement, and the hearings are being followed closely in Skopje.
