Average wage in Bulgaria €1,444 in Q2 2026

The average gross monthly wage in Bulgaria reached €1,444 in the second quarter of 2026, according to preliminary figures from the National Statistical Institute.

Year-on-year increase of 9.8% and quarter-on-quarter rise of 2.6%

Compared with the same period a year earlier, the average wage rose by 9.8 percent. On a quarterly basis the average pay grew by 2.6 percent versus the first quarter of 2026.

The largest sectoral gains were recorded in the mining industry, where wages climbed by 14.8 percent, followed by construction with a 6.5 percent increase and education with a 6.3 percent rise.

Breaking the quarter into months, the average gross monthly wage was €1,476 in April, €1,434 in May and €1,421 in June.

Analysts say the figures reflect continuing wage pressures across several industrial sectors, with mining and construction leading the gains, while policymakers will watch whether the trend continues into the second half of the year.
