Average net pay in August 2026 rose 7.6% year‑on‑year to 48,733 denars; gross wage reached 73,336 denars.
The average monthly net wage in North Macedonia in August 2026 amounted to 48,733 denars, an increase of 7.6 percent compared with the same month last year, the State Statistical Office reported.
Sectoral drivers and month-on-month changes
The year-on-year rise in the average net wage was driven primarily by higher pay in several sectors: Water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (+11.9 percent), Administrative and support service activities (+10.7 percent) and Manufacturing (+9 percent).
Compared with the previous month, August saw notable month-on-month increases in particular areas: Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply rose by 5.4 percent, Arts, entertainment and recreation by 5 percent, and Administrative and support service activities by 4.2 percent.
The average gross wage in August 2026 was 73,336 denars.
Analysts say these figures reflect nominal growth in wages across select industries; the State Statistical Office published the data as part of its regular payroll statistics for August 2026.
