Kopaonik sees early snow as New Year prices double

Early snow on Kopaonik and sharp seasonal pricing have reopened the annual question for winter tourists: how much will a ski holiday cost in 2026/2027? Temperatures on Kopaonik dropped to one degree above zero and the first snowfall slowed traffic on the mountain approaches, while accommodation offers already show strong price differences depending on the travel dates.
For Kopaonik the published offers for apartments vary with the period: preseason (27 November to 24 December) prices are about 45 euros per night (around 315 euros for seven nights). The New Year period (25 December to 16 January) doubles that rate to 90 euros per night (630 euros for seven nights), while in the February peak some rentals reach up to 100 euros per night. Hotel half-board in mid-range hotels is offered at about 70 euros per person per day in December, but during New Year and school holiday stretches prices exceed 170 euros per person per day.
Other costs and neighbouring resorts
On top of lodging, visitors must factor in ski passes, equipment hire, transport and food. Tornik on Zlatibor is completing preparations for the season: the resort has five pistes and an artificial snow system, and organisers are already promoting presale ski passes at promotional prices.
Zlatibor’s accommodation market likewise covers a wide range, from private apartments to luxury spa hotels; the tourist organisation on Zlatibor warns that equipment rental and individual ski lessons are priced separately and should be included when planning a budget.
Serbian ski centres say ski-pass price lists for the upcoming season will be adjusted and that the best conditions will appear in presales and at the very start and end of the season. The main practical takeaway for families planning a winter break is clear: the choice of dates matters more than the choice of a particular apartment—avoiding days around New Year and the school holiday can save families several hundred euros.
With the first snow already on the ground at Kopaonik and seasonal offers visible, travellers are being reminded that timing their trip is the most effective way to cut costs for the 2026/2027 winter season.
