Pipe bursts in former Nova Makedonija building; electricity cut after flooding
A burst pipe flooded the first floor of the former Nova Makedonija building this morning and electricity was switched off for safety.
A water pipe burst this morning inside the building of the former newspaper Nova Makedonija, which houses several ministries and other state institutions, causing flooding on the ground floor.
Electricity to the building has been switched off as a safety measure after water reached the first floor, officials said.
Official comment
Ivica Tomovski, director of the Service for General and Common Affairs (SOZR) of the Government, told our reporters that the building is not under their responsibility.
"The building is not under their jurisdiction; they only take care of hygiene and the elevators in the building," Tomovski said.
Details about which ministries are affected and when power will be restored were not immediately available.
