Radovish fire unit launches GoFundMe campaign to buy a fire truck
Unit asked citizens and the diaspora for help; donors from Switzerland can use TWINT.
The Radovish Territorial Firefighting Unit has launched an online fundraising drive to buy a new fire truck, announcing the campaign on its social media pages and directing supporters to a GoFundMe page amid the peak of the forest fire season.
How the appeal is organised
In a public message posted online the unit invited residents and members of the Macedonian diaspora to contribute or to share the campaign. The post notes that donors in Switzerland can give via TWINT using a QR code included in the campaign link and images.
"Dear people of Radovish and Macedonians around the world,
Today we officially launch the GoFundMe campaign to secure a firefighting vehicle for the Radovish Territorial Firefighting Unit. We call on you to support this humanitarian initiative, whether you are from Radovish, another city, or live in the diaspora. Every donation, regardless of amount, is of great importance and brings us closer to our common goal. If you are unable to donate, please share the campaign with your friends and acquaintances so it reaches as many generous people as possible. For donors in Switzerland, donations are also possible via TWINT, using the QR code found in the link and images. Together we can make a real difference and help the Radovish TFU obtain a vehicle that will serve to protect all citizens. We thank you from the heart for every donation, every share and every support!"
At the time this report was published the unit had received seven individual donations, totalling €562 of the €13,000 target.
