12 fires recorded in North Macedonia in the last 24 hours; no active blazes at 7:30
The Crisis Management Centre reports one fire under control and eleven fully extinguished across multiple municipalities.
Twelve separate fires were reported across North Macedonia during the past 24 hours, the Crisis Management Centre said. By 7:30 a.m. today there were no active fires; one blaze remained under control while the other eleven had been fully extinguished.
Where the largest fire was
The fire still listed as under control affected areas on the territory of Makedonski Brod and Sopište. According to the latest operational information, the flames started near the village of Belica in the Kajorec locality and then spread toward the Jasen area. Low-stem and mixed forest were involved.
All other fires recorded over the same period were localised and extinguished at multiple locations around the country.
Incidents included burning waste in Nerashte (Tearce) and low vegetation and waste near Erdjelija (Sveti Nikole). Low-vegetation fires were also recorded near the villages of Rashtani and Beleshtevica in Veles, and near Agino Selo in Kumanovo.
In Skopje several fires were registered: on the Vardar embankment in Karpoš, in Dolno Svilare (Saraj), in Trubarevo and Stajkovci (Gazi Baba), and in Deljadrovci and Mrševci (Ilinden). Additional incidents were reported near the village of Desovo (Dolneni), by the "Ekonomijata" facility of the prison near Bitola, and a portion of low vegetation in Erdjelija.
The Crisis Management Centre said the situation remains under observation and reiterated that, at the moment, no active fires are recorded.
