SDSM: New budget rebalance amid a reported €900 million gap
SDSM says the Government took on €250 million more credit to cover current needs, just two months after the previous rebalance.

The opposition party SDSM says the Government of North Macedonia is preparing another budget rebalance because state coffers face a serious shortfall, just two months after the previous adjustment.
SDSM alleges the budget gap has grown to around 900 million euros and that there are not enough funds to cover salaries, pensions and ongoing obligations.
New borrowing for current needs
According to the opposition, the Government has already taken on a further 250 million euros in borrowing to meet budgetary needs until the end of the year. SDSM insists these funds are not intended for development projects or repayment of older loans, but solely to cover the current fiscal shortfall.
The party also warns that public debt has risen to about 11 billion euros — or over 63 percent of GDP when combined with obligations to public enterprises.
SDSM criticised the Government's economic policies and said the new loans are a burden placed on citizens and future generations.
