Seven Western Balkans Six industrial parks sign memoranda with EU partners in Budva
Seven parks from WB6 signed memoranda with six EU partners in Budva to boost links with European industry and support entry into value chains.
Seven industrial parks and business zones from the Western Balkans Six signed memoranda of understanding with six partner organisations from the European Union in Budva, formally launching the Partnership between Western Balkans Six industrial parks and the EU. The signing took place on the margins of the Economic Conference Montenegro 2026 and precedes a ministers' meeting under the Berlin Process.
Regional aims and institutional support
The initiative, prepared as part of regional economic deliverables for the upcoming Berlin Process summit in 2026, is facilitated by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and organised together with the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro with support from the European Commission. It is also intended to feed into implementation of the Action Plan for the Common Regional Market 2025–2028.
Organisers say the partnership is designed to tighten business links between the Western Balkans and European industry, back the integration of regional firms into European value chains, and ease the exchange of green practices among industrial parks across the region and in the EU.
“Today we launch a partnership between the industrial parks in the Western Balkans Six and the EU, with a clear goal: to bring our businesses closer to European industry. Our companies are already closely connected to the European market. Now the opportunity is to deepen that connection: to help more companies from the Western Balkans Six to enter European value chains, and those that already supply European customers to take on a larger volume of work,” said Amer Kapetanović. “Today we establish contacts. Tomorrow we build business ties.”
The signing of seven memoranda with six EU partners marks a concrete step in a broader regional push to attract investment, green practices and higher-value orders for local suppliers. The RCC and Montenegrin chamber framed the ceremony as part of a wider process to align the region's industrial zones with European standards and markets.
