Six wildfires remain active across North Macedonia, one brought under control
Crisis Management Centre: 29 outdoor fires registered by 7:30 a.m. — six still active, one under control
The Crisis Management Centre reported that by 7:30 a.m. this morning authorities had registered 29 outdoor fires across the country; six remained active, one was placed under control, and 22 were fully extinguished.
Active blazes are recorded near Studenicani — between the villages of Morane, Vrtekica and Ramni Gaber — where mixed forest is burning. In the Macedonski Brod area flames are present at the Vidush locality and close to the villages of Dragov Dol and Lokvica, affecting low vegetation, shrubs and low‑stem forest.
Fires spreading in several municipalities
Near Veles, a fire at the village identified as S'lp and at the site called Gorno Selo has expanded toward the villages of Dobrino and Tisovica in Zelenikovo; oak and hornbeam stands as well as low vegetation have been affected. In the north, a blaze between Kopance and Tudence in Jegunovce has spread toward the village of Bojane in the municipality of Saraj.
Teams are also combating fires close to the villages of Borino and Zitoshe near Krusevo, and near Konopnica in Kriva Palanka; those fires involve pine forest, low vegetation and shrubs.
Officials say the fire between the villages of Aldanci and Norovo in Krusevo has been brought under control; it had been burning low vegetation and a degraded low‑stem oak stand.
The left‑wing party Levica criticised the power company EVN after the blaze near Studenicani, stating that: "Cables must not be left hanging; their condition should be monitored."
