Tijana Dapčević: The fortune‑teller who predicted meeting her husband

Tijana Dapčević says a single visit to a fortune-teller changed how she later understood her life — even though she still keeps a private distance from such beliefs.

The cup, the prediction and a meeting one year later

According to Tijana, a friend urged her to visit a well-known seer in Serbia a year before she met the man who would become her husband. The woman read her cup and made a sequence of precise claims that later played out in Tijana's life.

"A friend of mine finished and asked this woman if she wanted to tell me something, and I said, 'all right then.' She looked into my cup and told me that in a year I would meet a man from another country, that I would fall in love with him and move. I rolled my eyes at that. She also told me that I would get married, have one child and be very popular there," Tijana recalled.

When she met Milan a year later, the singer says she immediately remembered the seer's words. From the fortune-teller's point of view, Tijana says, everything came true to the letter — yet she emphasizes she does not personally put much stock in such things.

Tijana and her husband Milan have been married for more than two decades; their son is named Vuk. The family lives in Belgrade, but Tijana continues to create for audiences in North Macedonia and says everyone is happy when they come home to visit.

She added that Milan often accompanies her to Skopje because he has his own small team there, and that past tabloid rumours about trouble in their marriage do not reflect their private life. "The media wrote that Milan cheated on me, but I did not deny it because such things do not interest us. Neither did he cheat on me, nor I on him. All these years I did not look at another man, because in my husband I have everything! It was and remains love at first sight. Maybe I cheated with Johnny Depp, Matthew McConaughey, Bradley Cooper, but in my thoughts," she joked.
