Warm and sunny today; isolated heavy rain and storms possible from tomorrow afternoon

Sunny and warm weather will prevail today across North Macedonia, with a light to moderate southeasterly wind and daytime highs between 30 and 36 °C, while overnight lows will range from 8 to 19 °C.

In Skopje the wind will be light to moderate from the south. Temperatures are expected to fall to about 13 °C in the morning and reach up to 36 °C during the day.

Tomorrow and on the following morning conditions will remain mostly sunny and warm with small to moderate local cloudiness. From tomorrow afternoon isolated heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast, accompanied by stronger winds in some places.

Local severe storms possible

"Because of the large amount of energy in the atmosphere, locally the processes will take the form of storms with intense heavy rain, strong wind and hail," warns the Hydrometeorological Service.

Authorities say the instability will recur locally through the end of the week, bringing episodes of heavy rain, thunder and gusty winds in places. Residents in exposed areas should be prepared for sudden deterioration in weather in the afternoons.
