Toshkovski announces mobile cameras in police vehicles to record traffic offences
Interior Minister said many MoI vehicles, including unmarked cars, will be fitted with automatic recording devices; rollout date and vehicle count not yet disclosed.

Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski announced that, in addition to the fixed Safe City cameras, traffic offences will increasingly be detected using mobile equipment installed in police vehicles.
How the control will work
Toshkovski said a large part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' fleet, including unmarked police cars, will be fitted with devices for automatic recording of violations such as speeding. The measure is intended to stop drivers from slowing only at known camera locations and then breaking rules on unsupervised stretches.
“In the future a large number of police vehicles, including civilian ones, will be equipped with devices that will be able to detect several traffic violations,” the minister said.
Data recorded by these mobile devices will be entered directly into the ministry's digital system, which officials say will make it impossible for drivers to predict where an equipped patrol will appear.
The ministry has not yet specified how many vehicles will receive the new equipment or when the system will be put into operation. Authorities expect the mobile monitoring to improve compliance with traffic laws and increase road safety across North Macedonia.
