North Macedonia 3-3 at Junior Kickboxing Worlds in Lido di Jesolo
On the opening day the Macedonian junior team recorded three victories and three defeats; Milan Neshevski stopped Martim Sereto in the first round.
The North Macedonia junior kickboxing team finished the opening competitive day at the Junior World Championships in Lido di Jesolo, Italy with an even record: three wins and three defeats.
Milan Neshevski produced the most decisive victory for the delegation, stopping Portugal's Martim Sereto with a referee stoppage in the first round of their ring bout.
Results from the ring and tatami
Gligor Nikolov also prevailed in the ring, earning a 3:0 decision over Muhamadibrohim Rafikjonov of Kyrgyzstan. On the tatami, Marco Basnarkov recorded a clear win against Italy's Cristian Arbore.
Three Macedonian competitors concluded their championships on day one. Dimitar Yachev was defeated on the tatami by Aidan John Brumer of South Africa, while Dragan Pandev lost on the tatami to Aidan Lock of Great Britain. In the ring, David Atanasovski was beaten by Greece's Thanasis Geroglous.
Selector Dejan Mitrovski – Urko expressed satisfaction with what he saw, stressing that the competitors are still young and must gain experience at large events such as this.
The team will regroup and prepare for the next competition days, using the experience from Lido di Jesolo as preparation for upcoming bouts.
